Sweet Sixteen Surprise!!!

Hi! Happy Monday!
These past couple of weeks have been really busy for me because I have been secretly planning a Sweet 16 Surprise Party for my sister! Well.. it was this last Friday and turned out to be a success! She was totally surprised! I really wanted to do the party at my home in my backyard. The theme I chose was vintage, pastel colors. I handmade the fabric drop and the letters. I will show you later how I made them. Everything collaborated so nicely. The swing I already had, bought a year ago from Pier I Imports. Planning a party is one thing, but planning a surprise party for your sister is a whole other ballgame! It was a bit crazy and hectic at times, but everything pulled through. Got a bit emotional when she arrived, but that’s what happens.. We are sisters and she means the world to me!
The letters I bought from JoAnns Fabric store along with the yarn. I wrapped each letter. Its very time consuming but I did it all while watching a movie. Then simply added some silk flowers with hot glue.
I borrowed the glass candy jars from my friend Domnika. Filled them up with pretty candy and yogurt covered pretzels. And as each guest left I made sure they took the bag of sweets with them.
Whats a party without these sweet pastel macaroons! They were so tasty!
The same fabric was used to make flags! Thank you Domnika for making them for me!
The best cupcakes from saint cupcake
Isnt the cake just darling? My sisters good friend made it! I wanted it to be simple covered in white fondant with lace ribbon and real flowers. It turned out perfect! The wooden 16 numbers are from michaels.

Love the mason jars! I covered them with a doile and some string.
Then went outside and picked some wild flowers! Simple. Yet Beautiful!
Loved how the table setting turned out!

The DRINKS station!
Stand I found at Home Goods. The lemonade jars borrowed. The mason jars from Michaels
Straws from shop sweet lulu. Stenciled with white paint the letters DRINKS on the flags.
Fruit Kabobs
 Chocolate Covered Strawberries!
The Photobooth!
Hairbows from American Apprel.

I bought chalkboard paint and made all these wooden signs.
Along with the mustaches and lips!
Love her to pieces!
Shes my one and only sis!

I love what you have done here! I remember my best friend in high school had an amazing cake for her sweet sixteen party in New Yersey. Those were the day when we were young. Do you think this would work for a wedding?

That's really a nice idea. I am also going to give a wonderful party to my daughter at sweet 16 venues nyc. I want that she starts her sweet sixteen with great fun and surprises.

This is an adorable and creative idea for a sweet sixteen birthday! I'm throwing my daughter's sweet sixteen next month, and this has given me so many ideas of what to do! All I need now is a venue and DJ, and I'm set!

Very adorable. I've hosted many Sweet 16s and this is unique and will hopefully become a trend. I love the subtle color and the girls holding up the frames. Very nice idea. Hope to see more Sweet 16s in NJ looking like this.
