That is one intense party! Kids lose their minds for Elmo so I'm sure it was a hit!! Question - where did you find those apothecary jars? I need to start collecting them for my wedding and I'm at a loss.

It's very irresponsible & callous to use live animals as party favors. Wonder how many of them died in those little jars?

Great info! Thanks for sharing it here! I am looking for a talented event planner for my company party. Want to celebrate this at local Seattle convention center as getting quite affordable quotes for the same.

Party looked amazing, but I agree it is really cruel to give live animals as party favors:(

That is very unfair and cruel to those fish. What did they do to deserve a tiny prison like that. Very sad this.

It’s an adorable party and I love the creative ideas, but I doubt any of the parents of the attending toddlers were pleased to have the responsibility of a surprise live animal dumped on them.

Goldfish, btw, live VERY long (oldest recorded have been in their 40’s). And they get VERY big (like, 12”). They require 20-30 gallons of water per fish to be healthy, as they are huge waste producers and high oxygen consumers even compared to other fish of their size. Most die as babies from ammonia poisoning or slow suffocation because people don’t know how to care for them, which is why people incorrectly believe they have short lifespans. It’s not your fault; big box pet stores encourage misinformation, because if people knew how much care goldfish actually need, most people would never buy them.
